State Questions: Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Mecklenburg-Vorpommern lies in Germany's northeast on the Baltic Sea, and with around 1.6 million inhabitants has the lowest population density of any federal state. The state capital is Schwerin, named after Schwerin Castle on an island in the lake of the same name. The islands of Rügen and Usedom, the Mecklenburg Lake District, and the Hanseatic city of Rostock are major attractions. Part of East Germany until 1990, the state was re-founded after reunification.
